Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), Noida - a Charitable Special School |
MBCN is a pristine experiment in discharge of corporate social responsibility by a flourishing group of commercial companies, called Wave Group. Late Shri. Gurdeep Singh Chadha (popularly known as Ponty Chadha), a leading industrialist of Northern India and Ex. Managing Director of the Group, is the driving force behind the formation of the charitable trust. He established Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan in July 1999 with the mission to educate and prepare special children to live within the community, having achieved three fold self-dependence, Physical, Social and Financial to the best of their ability.
MATA BHAGWANTI DEVI CHADHA CHARITABLE TRUST was formed in the memory of late Smt. Bhagwanti Devi Chadha, Mother of late Shri. Kulwant Singh Chadha, Ex. Chairman of the Wave Group. Established initially in a rented building in NOIDA an upcoming industrial suburb of New Delhi, MBCN has been recently shifted to a modern campus and has its own premises spreading over two acres of land on the upcoming eight lane NOIDA – Agra Express Way.
Actor-producer John Abraham on Thursday, February 13, 2014 attended the 15th annual day function - ‘Swayam Sidhha’ at Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan School (MBCN) in Noida and said it is "very inspiring to see the children" and that he would like to "spend time" with them in future. Captain Sardar Singh of Delhi Waveriders, Hockey India League, joined the “Madras Cafe” actor at the event.
The special children of MBCN School put up a show for parents and guests on the theme - Girl child and woman empowerment via dance dramas symbolizing the rights and equality of women in the society. The students of the school also prepared specially designed hand crafted gift hampers for Singh and John. Last year four students of the school were awarded medals at the Special Olympics in Australia.
