Today we are proud to share with you about two eminent Noida personalities who have been conferred with Padma Awards this Republic Day.
Noida-based cardiologist Dr DS Gambhir has received the Padma Shri
award for excellence in the field of cardiology. Dr Gambhir is currently
the director of cardiology at Kailash Hospital, Noida. The 66-year-old, who was earlier associated with GB Pant hospital in New
Delhi as a professor, is one of the icons in the field of clinical as
well as interventional cardiology in India.

Sculptor Ram V Sutar, one of the most sought-after artists in the country, has
been awarded the third highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan by the
government of India. The latest works of the 91-year-old, who was awarded the Padma Shree
award in 1999, includes the statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, which has
been designed by him.

Another great news for Noida people is the launch of affordable housing scheme offering 2,000 flats under
Samajwadi Awas Yojana in Noida for the economically weaker section (EWS) and low income group (LIG) categories on the occasion of Republic Day. The housing scheme will be launched in three Noida sectors including
117, 118 and 122. Flats will be available in sizes of 32 and 71 metres. There will be 1,280 flats of 32m area, 720 flats will be of 71m area. Flats under the scheme will be allotted through lottery
The Noida authority has already completed construction of the flats and has spent around Rs 160 crore. The reserve price for a 32-metre flat has been fixed at Rs 14.07 lakh and Rs 30 lakh for a 71m flat.
Each building will have four storeys. LIG flats under the scheme will have two rooms, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and a balcony while the EWS flats will offer one room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and a balcony.
