Now Zip Through DND NonStop

Other than the power situation (arghhh! the frequent power cuts) it is traffic in Noida that is killing. A little respite in your way Noida people. Noida toll Bridge Company launched two dedicated radio frequency identification (RFID) lanes on Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) Flyway.

Noida Diary: Now Zip through DND Flyway with RFID tags
What does that mean?
Simply it would mean the silver RFID tag users will no longer have to halt instead they can zip through the toll plaza with ease.

An RFID tag is an object that can be applied to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification and tracking using radio waves. These tags can be read from several meters away and beyond the line of sight of the reader. If you wish to know more about RFID watch this 5min long video.

Noida Diary: RFID tags for non stop passage through DND Flyway

Noida Toll Bridge Company built, operate and maintain DND Flyway. It has announced free RFID tags to the first 5000 users. There's more good news - users having a minimum tag of Rs1,500 will be charged just Rs25 instead of Rs28 for each transit. There are limited cards available under this scheme.

If you are a Silver/Gold card holder, you can surrender the card for an RFID tagged card. The balance in your card would be transferred to your account. You can upgrade to the RFID tag Card with just Rs1,500. Once purchased an RFID sticker would be pasted on your wind screen. So when you pass the silver lane you would be required to slow down near the touch pod for the RFID reading.

The company besides giving away free RFID tags is helping commuters with installing and recharging these tags on the spot under their week long promotional campaign to spread awareness. So grab your RFID tag and whizz through the DND. Vroom!!

True that. Queues are best avoided for they can eat into your time. Now I am so happy that we can skip it.

    1. I am afraid...if this happens here then it will defeat the purpose of having a hassle-free, halt-free drive. Already people are on street demanding to make DND Flyway toll-free just the way it happened in Gurgaon. Lets see how things unfold.
