Rain Gods are smiling behind the curtain of the overcast skies. The heavens opened their gates on Sunday giving a breather to us lesser mortals from the summers that had ranged from scorching to sultry in a span of few weeks.
On seeing the overcast skies our expressions matched those of the villagers in the movies 'Lagaan' starring Aamir Khan and Dev Anand starred 'Guide'. The villagers in the movie are ecstatic to receive rains after a prolonged drought. Thank God we did not have to play a cricket match nor fast unto death. But the low monsoon warning was definitely a big scare for it would have certainly meant price rise in the economy. Hopefully, with the inflation seemingly under control and oil prices at the decadal lows, we can hope 'achche din' will continue. Well, getting down to the brass tacks this pluvial post is dedicated to this weekend skywatch in Noida.
When the skies turned darker and darker...
...and more darker shades of grey ...
....and darker in our neighborhood

Our weather here in DC has been hot too. Today, we're expecting to reach 97 degrees F. But I am excited because tomorrow, rain is forecasted. Relief is coming soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear about DC rain forecast ....hope you too get respite from the soaring mercury soon. Here we are getting intermittent showers :)
